Avicenna Alliance member VPH Institute at Europa Forum Lech 2017
Prof. Lies Geris, director of Virtual Physiological Human Institute and Avicenna Alliance Research Member, representing 50% of the Alliance, received a personal invitation to participate to the 6th edition of the "Europa Forum Lech 2017" which this year will take place from 19-21 April 2017.
The town of Lech in Austria will be the venue for the Europa Forum, which is a forum where top-level players from industry, politics and academia in Europe and beyond will come together to discuss and exchange ideas on how data can help transform European industries from Finance to Health, and from Energy to Automotive. This year’s Forum will also look at the major challenges ahead of the EU in the year of its 60th birthday. The speeches will also include interventions from Commissioners Günther H. Oettinger and Johannes Hahn.
Of special interest for Avicenna Alliance members will be the session entitled "European opportunities in the data economy: the examples of banking and health." The session is supposed to highlight that the data economy should be seen as a great opportunity for Europe. It is important to be aware and take into account the research, economic and societal benefits, together with the necessary privacy and security aspects. The panellists will highlight some of these opportunities from the perspective of two key sectors: health and banking and showcase the available tools and instruments that can create these opportunities.
More information on the forum can be found on the dedicated website.
